Disaster recovery planning is paramount to any organization charged with the responsibility of safeguarding our customers' data. With each contract, CDS works with the customer to design a disaster recovery plan to meet their needs. This includes recovery point and recovery time objectives based on individual requirements and frequency of disaster-recovery exercises.
We designed our overall strategy to ensure our customers that an appropriate and focused effort is applied for the effective, efficient and timely resolution of any significant adverse event affecting technology. This strategy uses a crisis management methodology to respond to such events, or escalate the event to a disaster, based on the extent and seriousness of the event and resulting impact on the technology department or those dependent on technology. This methodology has a pre-established definition of what constitutes a crisis and what severity to apply depending on the specific event.
The methodology also defines the escalation process so that appropriate resources are devoted to resolving the event in the most efficient manner. Based on the severity of the issue, the responsible manager has discretion to accelerate the escalation process to ensure effective resolution of the issue.
